Sleek, glossy and Lipstick Red

Visit MARY/THETEACH for more Ruby Tuesday offerings.

On Saturday I came across this beautiful, glossy red...

This beauty is a 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne and I'm sure there's people in the know who would be able to fill us in on the features of this car. I'm not that person! I do know this car was built in an America that was riding on an economic high and nothing was too big or ostentatious when it came to motor vehicles. Petrol must have been darn cheap...

Have the best Ruby Tuesday everyone! :)

Old Ruby Reds...

For this weeks Ruby Tuesday I had a photo of a road works lantern. I have no idea how old it is, but I know our road works departments don't use them anymore. The second photo is of the same lantern, different angle and different use. A spider, that I did not see or snap, has built its home here. There are some tiny flowers caught in the web that make this web very homely looking indeed.

Below is an original letter box, dating from the Gold Rush days in Victoria. I think this treasure from the early snail mail era was probably put in that spot in the mid 1800's. This cute ruby letter box sure has a lot more character than the new mail boxes you find all over the place.

Ruby Tuesday

This weeks Ruby Tuesday offering is from my
most recent mall trip...uh huh again!

This item caught my eye in a kitchenware window.
I am a little worried for him, he doesn't look healthy.
And I don't think a splitting headache covers it.

Something green for St. Patrick's Day. I
had heaps of choices for that...but I chose this
photo for the amazing green in the birds
feathers. The two birds in the capture were
in the tree next door, making a lot of noise
and just staying enough out of sight that I
couldn't get a decent shot of them. They are
Lorikeets, native birds to Australia.

But as I'm looking at the photo right now,
I'm wondering...

*Click for details if you dare*

Hmmm...I'm wondering if I should be embarrassed
or not because I think more to the point than their
being Lorikeets is the fact that maybe they are love
birds. And I think I might have captured their mating
ritual. After some thought and the decision to show
it anyway I will say "hey, it's the cycle of life!"

Happy and a surprising Ruby Tuesday everyone.

Ruby Tuesday...

My favorite boy in the whole world stepped up to the plate and
gave me his best angles for this weeks Ruby Tuesday. He is
normally camera shy and runs for cover when I get behind the lens.
Not this time and I don't know what made the difference.
He let me snap a whole stream of shots and these are my
favorites. Some of you who have been following my Passionate
Fiction blog for a while will have seen this guy before, for those
of you who have not, this is Mr. Bun E. Rabbit; Buns for short.

He has been in our family for three years this April and is adored
by all. He's the one who hears about all my joys, frustrations
and cussing when I'm writing and it's not going too well. Poor boy
probably needs therapy. :)

Happy Ruby Tuesday everyone!

The third photo is not such a good one of Buns, but I love
it because he thought he had gotten away from me, pulled
out of sight just enough for me to forget about him. And I
like the touches of Ruby in this snap.

...and this is the boy when he was six weeks
old. He looks like he was having fun, but I think
he was scared out of his wits.

Ruby Tuesday...

Wow, this Ruby Tuesday rolled around quickly.
This morning I was enjoying my 1 cup a day
allowance of real coffee, a double shot long black, at this
tiny little coffee shop I've been to many times. Just
recently it changed owners. Now, I'm usually pretty
sharp noticing when people change things...not this time.

The new owners turned it red, or, was it always red
and I didn't notice? When I really looked around, I
smiled because the whole place had just handed me this weeks
Ruby Tuesday on a plate, as the saying goes.

Anyways here are three snaps of the interior of my
little Red coffee shop and a snap from last week that is too
cute not to show. Every time I find Ruby to photograph, I'm
amazed at how much red we have in our day to day lives.

Have a wonderful Ruby Tuesday everyone!
