Ruby Tuesday

This weeks Ruby Tuesday offering is from my
most recent mall trip...uh huh again!

This item caught my eye in a kitchenware window.
I am a little worried for him, he doesn't look healthy.
And I don't think a splitting headache covers it.

*Click to examine the details...*

Something green for St. Patrick's Day. I
had heaps of choices for that...but I chose this
photo for the amazing green in the birds
feathers. The two birds in the capture were
in the tree next door, making a lot of noise
and just staying enough out of sight that I
couldn't get a decent shot of them. They are
Lorikeets, native birds to Australia.

But as I'm looking at the photo right now,
I'm wondering...

*Click for details if you dare*

Hmmm...I'm wondering if I should be embarrassed
or not because I think more to the point than their
being Lorikeets is the fact that maybe they are love
birds. And I think I might have captured their mating
ritual. After some thought and the decision to show
it anyway I will say "hey, it's the cycle of life!"

Happy and a surprising Ruby Tuesday everyone.

  1. Ouch! That looks painful. Good catch for RT. They sell those in Finland too, haven't seen that particular one but they have tons of other nice stuff. Happy Ruby!

  3. There's an area in Busch Gardens "Africa" in Tampa where you can walk into a huge enclosure with a cup of sugar water in your hand and lorikeets will descend upon you... I didn't like it! Felt a little too Alfred Hitchcock for my taste... =8^0

    Happy TUESDAY,

and for the lorikeets...hummm looks like they need a room. ;)

I've done the lorikeet feeding too and had them all land on me as well. I though it was pretty fun...until I noticed that one though my freckle was food and bit me. silly bird.

  10. I find that kitchen item just a little disturbing! But of course I love the birds. They are regular visitors to my home as are eastern rosellas, cockatoos, butcher birds and magpies.
